Yep!

Sucks feeling sick!

HERE are the things that I did (some of which I posted pics of on Instagram – GET ON IT, PEOPLE! Instagram, that is) to help me feel better AS SOON as I had an inkling I might be “under the weather” (which, speaking of, has been rainy, rainy, rainy here in SoCal):

  • Juiced! Now, again, I don’t mean “juice juice”. If you’ve been following me for any length of time you know that I don’t use a juicer any longer or extract JUST the liquid; I use a blender. This weekend I blended a generous couple of inches of ginger root, several stalks of celery, carrots, an apple and a lime.
  • Tea! Chamomile, specifically. Different teas and have different healing properties. I added raw, organic Manuka honey AFTER the tea was steeped and ready to drink. If you are reheating your tea, do the same thing- add the honey afterwards so it stays as “raw” as possible.
  • Hot Yoga! I’ll admit this probably wasn’t the best idea. But I am a yoga teacher and acclimated to the poses and heat. Plus I knew whatever I had wasn’t contagious, or least not by Sunday.
  • Massage! I am lucky to have the best therapists on speed dial.
  • Skin Scrubbing (or Dry Brushing)! I posted about this HERE. It really is a wonderful DIY detoxifying technique
  • Anti-viral’s! One of the best tips I learned from having worked at the specialty hospital those years was that most of the docs took prescription anti-viral medication during the fall/winter months. Ask your doctor if a prescription could be right for YOU.
  • Epsom salt bath! With enough salt to float an elephant (which is how I felt).
  • Oregano oil! The super strength version. I normally take this for a week or 2 during every month anyway. Oregano oil is a powerful immunity booster and not something that you want to be on continuously.
  • CBD salve! Think what you will, the evidence on endocannabinoids is overwhelmingly positive.

What do you think of all that?

Lastly, in regards to the picture I posted on Instagram Stories:

Apparently this is called “Michigan Medicine” and if you’re from those parts, you know this! A friend of mine brought me this can today and enlightened me because I am not from Michigan and I did not know this. But consider it added to the list for the next time I don’t feel well (in another several years, I hope).

By the way, the featured image? Lisa Rinna holding a “pill box” purse has really nothing to do with the information in this post. She is an icon and “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” is airing again, so that definitely makes everyone feel better!

Any Questions??
