There have been so many questions recently as to “what exactly is in” my go-to juice that I needed to put together a post.
Here it is!
This juice (really, a “blend”) is taken as a preventive measure against all the SICKNESS going around but it is also very useful if you ARE sick to lessen the symptoms and duration.
Plus, the ingredients have super health benefits on their own, which makes this a “win win”…or a “must do”.
Apple cider vinegar is a super probiotic (think kombucha-like) that is reported to help with insulin sensitivity (hello, fellow diabetics!), cholesterol levels, acid reflux, blood pressure, immunity (hence, this post), and a host of other beneficial things. It promotes a more balanced body pH by being alkalizing – as does the lemon, believe it or not.
Obviously there are other things that I do to stay healthy (physical activity, persistent hand washing/sanitizing, infrared, cryotherapy, special supplements…) and things I should do MORE of (yoga, meditation, stress reduction…) but I really do believe that this juice is a fantastic health aide.
ENJOY!
Ingredients:
- 2-4 TB Apple Cider Vinegar
- Generous 1-2″ chunk of Ginger root (washed and peeled)
- Lemon, 1/2 (peeled)
- Optional add-in’s: Cayenne, Honey, Garlic (cloves)
To make: Blend* with water, and how much (8oz to 32oz) is entirely up to you! So easy. I recommend starting with the first THREE ingredients before adding the options- especially garlic.
This drink can be used hot or cold.
If your throat is sore or hoarse, I’d recommend adding the honey and drinking this heated.
