HERE -“Shoes” the Full Version
First a little story:
These are Sketchers. These are NOT my new shoes. However, these are very important shoes.
Many years ago I was doing quite a bit of walking in addition to my fitness pursuits (yoga dance, lifting, running, cycle) and I bought these things when they were branded as not only being comfortable for long distances but…omg… BUTT LIFTING. (Wasn’t Kim Kardashian rep-ing them??)
My butt looked the same (duh…Fabulous! jk) and apparently the “science” they claimed about these shoes was…well, misdirected. After what (allegedly) was a series of legal snafu’s they took them off the market.
Misdirected science because it turns out, these are AMAZING for your feet. The rocker bottom design takes the pressure off of the ball of the foot. People who had issues with foot pain* became this ever increasing, vocal group numbering in the thousands. If you look on eBay or Amazon now, IF you can find them, they are selling for big money. Nearly every ortho and podiatrist I consulted with about my foot issue recommended them, which isn’t really helpful if you couldn’t find them. And if you approach Sketchers, as I did, you will learn that the demand is so high, they are currently redesigning these for a re-release. (When we don’t know…)
Enter the Hoka brand
These are similar in design and perhaps quite a bit more comfortable and definitely better looking. These Hoka’s are the Clifton 5 version and they’re practically sold out. I bought mine on Amazon (<- link to my page). One of my Zumba students/friends was able to find in black (lucky) and swears by them.
Maybe they would work for you.
Our feet change as we get older- arthritis and or injuries not withstanding. The brands and types of sneakers (Asics were one) that gave me support previously, are just “so so” now. Brooks, Hoka and (sometimes) New Balance are my current “rides”. I love how fashionable my Adidas are but can only wear them when I’ve packed them with an orthotic support or 2 (more like 3, as I normally wear 3 different appliances in my shoes…).
But I’m done with wearing shoes because they LOOK GOOD, just as I am with the rest of my outfit. It MUST be comfortable and functional.
Ya’ feel me? Do you feel the same way? Have you tried items that are “functional” like shoes or even leggings with copper peptides… or shirts with posturing correcting seams?

(* Yes fasciitis too, which is a catch all term and NOT a specific diagnosis. Similar to “LBP” or low back pain.)
From the previous post: “Be the reason someone decides to smile…on their own…even if it’s inside…”

Love you!
My grandkids love to take pictures on their phones of older folks (like me) in their orthodic looking shoes and posting the pics!!!! I told them someday they will understand why a lot of us wear ugly ass shoes…ha ha ha…because our feet are killing us! I die when they send me a pic of folks from the knees down to the feet in airports, shopping, restaurants!!! So funny! I currently wear asics. I need a wider toe box and also have had to go up a whole size to keep my toe nails from falling off!!
